Josh (00:00:02) - All right. We got five minutes on the clock. What is your name and what is your podcast show?

Dustin (00:00:07) - Uh, Dustin, how's an affiliate nerd out?

Josh (00:00:11) - Affiliate nerd out. So you talk about affiliate stuff. What is affiliate? Nerd out. What is it? What is it?

Dustin (00:00:18) - I bring on special guests, veterans in the field of affiliate marketing, both on the publish side and the brand side and agencies and networks. And we just nerd out about affiliate marketing because we're super passionate about it and we have a natural conversation. I like doing this on LinkedIn live, so I can get the most out of people's emotions when I when I drop a fun question on them. Yeah.

Josh (00:00:40) - What kind of questions do you like to ask on affiliate Nerd out?

Dustin (00:00:44) - Uh, I'd like to start off the show with, uh, introduction to who they are and what they do, and then naturally grow into their expertise and pick their brain on exactly what in affiliate marketing they are an expert in, so that I can learn about it even more for sure.

Josh (00:01:00) - How many episodes have you guys produced?

Dustin (00:01:03) - About 60.

Josh (00:01:04) - Wow. Cranking. Good job man.

Dustin (00:01:07) - And that's this year. That's two episodes a week.

Josh (00:01:09) - Yeah, that's a lot of work. What have you learned after interviewing 60 experts in affiliate marketing for the world of podcasting? What should we be paying attention to with affiliate marketing?

Dustin (00:01:21) - I think a dual system of, uh, video and audio is essential to it, like getting people's attention on whatever format and social network that you're on that you have the most exposure on is crucial part of of podcasting today. And Joe Rogan made this super popular where just one minute clips, uh, blew up his, uh, his podcast in general. And I just followed that same reiteration. And I do it on LinkedIn live, too, because there's a special algorithm of getting up to the top of everyone's feed when you're doing it on LinkedIn live.

Josh (00:02:00) - Ah, see.

Josh (00:02:01) - That's something that I haven't been paying attention to. I, I post it like on my podcast page or my YouTube, and then I put it in.

Josh (00:02:09) - So I should be paying attention to that's a content creator using their platform.

Dustin (00:02:14) - Absolutely. And I, I couple that with using, uh, super cool tools, you know, like Restream and uh, but stream and uh, or uh, and uh, there's so many buzzes out there. Uh, and these tools will help me, uh, automate these processes. And then I couple that every piece of content I make with this interview, I cut it into small one minute segments, uh, 5 to 10 of these, just depending on how good the episode is and spread them out all around the internet. So I'm using AI to automate all the processes that I'm doing. And my goal every week is to do essentially three hours of work. And that's just getting on the interview for 30 to 45 minutes, and then a little bit of legwork, and then my VA and, uh, artificial intelligence does the rest for me.

Josh (00:03:06) - So what do you do as an affiliate marketer? What do you do with the rest of your time if you're spending three hours a week working?

Dustin (00:03:12) - Uh, that's just the podcast, okay? Just like the content creation.

Dustin (00:03:17) - That's that's just to keep this engine rolling and sell my course and what I'm doing. But, uh, I'm doing so many things I focus on, uh, B2B, SaaS, uh, uh, affiliate, uh, reviews of products out there that I believe in and things that can help the affiliate marketing world. I'm really passionate about that. So that I focus on that. I've got a couple of clients that I do affiliate management for, so I've got a lot of fires going on. Um, I can't afford more than three hours for my podcast. Essentially. Yeah.

Josh (00:03:52) - Super cool. What what is one thing that you think was just a game changer when you started affiliate marketing?

Dustin (00:04:00) - Uh. I mean, tech stack, uh, was super important to me. I started out in WordPress and eventually evolved into, you know, I don't know how many subscriptions I have at this point for technology stack, and it's insane. But, um, I would say the utilization of my first virtual assistant was probably the key to my my success.

Dustin (00:04:25) - These days, I'm up to three at this point, uh, that are full time. But the first one just, uh, you know, pulling, uh, getting in there and jumping into that pool and finally doing it was the biggest game changer, because it saved me all the time from doing the things that I really didn't love doing.

Josh (00:04:43) - Yeah. All right. We got 18 seconds left. What is the name of your podcast show and where can people find it?

Dustin (00:04:49) - Uh, it's affiliate nerd out anywhere you find a podcast or go to my YouTube channel at Dustin house.com/y t y t.

Josh (00:04:59) - Cool, man. I hope you guys are having a great day. We did this all under five minutes. See you on the next episode.
