Josh (00:00:03) - All right. We got five minutes on the clock. I'm here with my friend Daniel. Daniel, what's your name? And your podcast show.
Daniel (00:00:08) - Daniel Gray, studio 44. Awesome.
Josh (00:00:10) - All right. What is one thing podcasters like podcast host like us need to focus on for growth and monetization?
Daniel (00:00:16) - Absolutely. I think tapping into your local business economy is the most important thing that you can like, use and utilize to to grow your monetization to to be able to, to give back. At the same time, I think that local businesses don't have the ad spend of nationwide companies, but they need the most help. So you can have smaller drips of income coming in and do shows that focus on how those businesses are affecting local business in in full. Yeah.
Josh (00:00:51) - So give an example of smaller drips of income because we're experiencing that from like ten different sources, little, little bits here and there. But how could you do that locally. Because all of our stuff is nationwide and we're struggling locally.
Daniel (00:01:03) - Absolutely.
Daniel (00:01:04) - So local business having a smaller budget, the smaller drip is we're not going for the $10,000 ad sponsorship. We're going for the not necessarily mom and pop, but we are going for that local business that has maybe a 250 or $500 a month advertising budget, and to be able to plug them into our shows is very simple. It can be done with an overlay, it could be done with actual product placement. It can be in the background, it can be smaller drips of income, and they're going to add up exponentially. And that way we're giving them a little bit. You know we can't give them the whole show. We can't give them the $10,000 package because it would exceed what they're they're able to spend. But it's also allowing more equality throughout the entire show.
Josh (00:01:52) - Yeah. Now you're a big proponent of local. You're very involved in the community. You're always, you know, promoting someone else's business. Now you do this with exotic mobile marketing and, and across the board. What is the thing that you're most excited in terms of what you're doing at scale?
Daniel (00:02:08) - I think that seeing growth from the beginning standpoint, and I'm talking about from the day we started our show to now having 115 brands that we work with at some level.
Daniel (00:02:21) - Right. And I say at some level, because when we talk about the difference between $100 or 250, a $500 client all the way to a $10,000 client, we're able to to bring them exposure and we're able to track those analytics. We we stay very, very on track with not only viewership but unique viewership and then back into analytics on who's clicking on those sponsored ads. So it's helped quite a bit.
Josh (00:02:47) - So when it comes to podcasts and you're pulling this together into a local market and you're you're working now with 115 brands like name a success story or something that has that you've used with podcasting that's blessed your business and a local business.
Daniel (00:03:01) - Absolutely. So I found that by interviewing people not just that have the most influence in town, I have interviewed people that would normally never even be invited on a podcast. Like you would wonder, why would I tell their story? Or our main show is called underdogs. We're here to tell people story from all walks of life that have kind of went through it.
Daniel (00:03:27) - We want to dig down into that. So we've had success stories recently. Joel with jazz pressure washing, amazing Guy, right, came on the show. He was able to share his story. I didn't know the struggles that he had went through. We do not pre stage any show where there's no questions in advance. There's no it's literally open, open range. So the questions are very real. It tears are natural. You know we get into the root of the why they do what they do. And especially with Joel he's able to to talk about what he does for his family and what he does for the community. And through that growth. I mean, it's exponential. There's been thousands of dollars of extra revenue just by him sharing his story, because more people were able to connect to him, because people shop with people they know, like and trust. And on a local level, it only makes sense.
Josh (00:04:21) - Yeah. So when you're focusing on local, what what is the mistake that you've made that you can maybe help others not do?
Daniel (00:04:29) - Gotcha.
Daniel (00:04:29) - Overpricing the market, thinking that just because I have a podcast, it's worth $1 million. I need to be humble enough to realize that we all start somewhere, and we usually start at the at the bottom, being able to dig through the dirt to get to the clouds. So if we're willing to be humble with the price, that means that we're going to get some traction of what people can afford, not what we hope or what we, you know, how we attach our own value. And I'm not saying value of who we are as a person. I'm saying more value. Of what we can do.
