Josh (00:00:02) - We got five minutes on the clock here in the man cave. What is your name and what is your podcast show?
Simona (00:00:08) - Simona Costantini is my name and my podcast is Happiness Happens. And as it relates to podcasting, I host two of them.
Josh (00:00:15) - Wow. Two shows. What's the other show?
Simona (00:00:18) - Happiness happens. And as it relates to podcasting.
Josh (00:00:20) - Oh. Got it. Okay, I thought it was. I thought it was one show. As it relates to podcast, I find happiness in podcasting. All right.
Simona (00:00:26) - So do do. Yeah.
Josh (00:00:28) - So you've launched two shows, which is super impressive. Um, what what message do you have for other podcasts host out there because you've launched two, you've gone through a whole process of overcoming fears and doubts, insecurities, imposter syndrome. What are your thoughts?
Simona (00:00:42) - Okay, so I will start this off by saying I was on threads. Okay, I posted something on threads the other day about essentially getting your podcast started and just, just, just starting. And so many people replied.
Simona (00:00:54) - And it was so eye opening for me because so many people replied and talked about how excited they were about their podcast, that they hadn't yet started. But the one thing that was holding them back was the fear they felt towards podcasting in general. So then I started to dig into this a little bit and I started thinking to myself, what is it about fear that makes people just block when it comes to podcasting? Like, what is it about podcasting that just makes people so fearful of even showing up, right? So I started thinking to myself, the first piece is that fear of getting started. You have that fear of trying something new. You have that fear of being seen in a different way. And. It's really interesting to me because this medium, this platform, is totally different than any other type of media that you will do video and audio, I mean video and podcasting kind of the same thing. But when you're trying to share your message and you're trying to share it in an impactful way, the fear of perfection, fear of being seen, fear of not being enough, fear of not feeling like you're enough is the first thing that will stop you from getting to where you want to go.
Simona (00:01:59) - So then I started digging even deeper than that, and I was like, okay, that's a good starting point too. But then you look at the whole other side of podcasting, which is the fear of tech. People who don't like tech people get so worried about, you know, what microphone do I need to choose? What's recording software should I do? What camera do I need? Do I need a camera? What if it doesn't sound good? What if my message doesn't, you know, doesn't land the way that it needs to? And that brought me back again to this idea of fear of getting started, getting started because you have a fear of being seen and you have a fear of sharing your message and being looked at in a different light from the people who know you the best. That was the number one thing that I found when I first started my podcast, Happiness Happens back in 2018. I kept thinking to myself, I'm going to share all of these things online. And all of it is going to be different than anybody knows about me, because it's coming from the depths of my mind, the depths of my soul, and being seen in that type of way that is completely different than the image and the persona that other people have created about who you are and how you are is really terrifying for people, and it's hard for people to start to find the courage to get over that.
Simona (00:03:10) - And so that would be the biggest block, I think, when it comes to podcasting, is the fear that we make up in our minds about that for sure.
Josh (00:03:19) - I know we got a minute 40s left, but when it comes to if you could look back to a specific point where you changed in terms of wearing a mask to, you know, becoming transparent, becoming authentic, going on a mic and sharing, you know, baring all what time of your life for that that happened. What was the moment that made that happen?
Simona (00:03:38) - That would have been after I recorded a whole bunch of content, and it was the moment that I published it, because in my mind I was like, well, it's out there now. It will always be out there on the internet and there's no going back. And when people started to hear the message and receiving their feedback and wow, that is really cool, or oh, I didn't know that or that's really interesting, started to build up my confidence in that.
Simona (00:04:01) - You know what, I think I have something here, and I think it's okay for me to show up and be seen in this way. And if the people closest to me are not judging me in the same way that I thought that they were judging me, but are actually proud of me and are actually excited of the things that we're creating, why would I not continue to show up and to share my message in a powerful way? Because only you can deliver the message that you need to deliver to impact the people that are only going to be impacted by you in the exact way that they will receive your message.
Josh (00:04:32) - Yeah, and think about all the people that are not being reached. If people don't get over the fear to launch.
Simona (00:04:38) - 100%, you're holding back someone else's opportunity to learn and grow and expand. And so when you look at it from a place of service, your podcast is of service. The fear just starts to disappear.
Josh (00:04:50) - Super cool. Your name, your podcast show 10s left.
Simona (00:04:54) - Simona Costantini Happiness happens and as it relates to podcasting.
Josh (00:05:00) - Boom! All under five minutes. See you all on the next episode.
Josh (00:05:07) - Right to the.
