James D. Newcomb

James Newcomb is a man whose life resonates with the rich timbres of music, the dynamic rhythms of podcasting, and the harmonious chords of family life.

A professional musician by training, James has spent a significant chapter of his life, twelve years to be exact, serving as a trumpet player in the U.S. Army. This unique career path has taken him across various landscapes of the United States and even to the cultural vibrancy of South Korea.

After departing the military lifestyle in 2015, James has remained an active performer, both on trumpet and recently adding vocal artistry to his repertoire. He has appeared as a guest performer in symphony orchestras and elite brass ensembles throughout the North Carolina and Southeastern Virginia region, and has firmly established himself as a professional vocal artist, with multiple audiobook credits to his name.

James has been heavily active in the podcasting industry since 2015. His foray into podcasting was sparked by hearing John Lee Dumas on Tom Woods' podcast. This led James to join John's flagship community Podcaster's Paradise, a decision he wholeheartedly recommends to aspiring podcasters.

James and Sana also launched JNS Media, a full-service digital media production and consulting company which provides James an outlet to share his hard-won expertise in online media with his clients.

James' podcasting journey is a testament to his passion for sharing stories and connecting with audiences worldwide. He has operated the popular Trumpet Dynamics podcast since 2016, and recently launched a show called Energeia.LIVE which highlights elements of our time on Earth to live lives of meaning and purpose.

Family is at the heart of James' world. He is a devoted husband to Sana Dorry, an Iranian native whom he met under incredible circumstances while she was teaching in Vietnam. He is also the proud father of a 9-year old boy who resides in Virginia Beach, VA. James and Sana recently relocated to Minneapolis, MN where James grew up in order to provide more abundant performing opportunities, as well as access to his deep family heritage to his son.
