Josh (00:00:02) - We got five minutes on the clock over here. What is your name and what is your podcast show?
Tony (00:00:08) - My name is Tony Martignetti and my podcast is called The Virtual Campfire.
Josh (00:00:13) - Awesome.
Tony (00:00:13) - I'll just share. Go, please.
Josh (00:00:15) - Yeah. So the virtual campfire. Yeah, it sounds super cool. What do you want? What piece of advice do you want to share about your show to other podcast host?
Tony (00:00:24) - Yeah, the podcast is all about sharing people's stories of transformation, and what I did is I didn't make it too structured. I just invited people in to share their stories through what I call flash points. And what's been really great about it is I, um, I use it as a way to learn a lot about people, but also I've learned a lot about who I am through this process. And I've created a book that's launching in just a few short weeks. That is basically a way for me to monetize the podcast.
Josh (00:00:56) - Heck yeah. Awesome. So is this what you do for a living? Are you a coach or an author speaker? Tell us about what you do.
Tony (00:01:04) - Yeah, I'll say yes to all of that. I'm a I am a coach, a facilitator of workshops and leadership development. Do some speaking and of course, do some writing. So I'm on my second book that I've wrote by myself. I've also been collaborating with others to write books together. So my first book was called Climbing the Right Mountain. My next book is called Campfire Lessons for Leaders How Uncovering Your Past Can Propel You Forward. And so, as you can see, campfires are important as where stories get told. And for all you podcasters out there, that's exactly what we're creating places for stories to get told.
Josh (00:01:43) - Nice. How did you come up with the concept of the virtual campfire? Like what? Why was that important to you?
Tony (00:01:50) - Yeah, I wanted to create a place where people felt safe to open up, to share the stories that you can't just, you know, be on the surface. You have to connect deeper. So the campfire was a place where people feel safe to share a little more of themselves.
Tony (00:02:06) - So I felt that it was the right analogy, but also something that I've always appreciated. And it connected with the idea of of having people around a campfire and sharing intimately.
Josh (00:02:18) - Yeah. Give us a tip on growth. Like, what have you done to take, you know, from first episode to, to some level of audience or community involvement, like give us a tip there of what you learned?
Tony (00:02:29) - Yeah. Well, first of all, I mean, I'm, I'm at like 230 episodes or north of that. So I've been in the game for a bit. And one of the things is that I, I stuck with this mantra, I want to do something that I know I would like. So if I'm inspired, I know other people will enjoy it too. So that was a starting point. The other thing is to keep on bringing on people who are interesting. That would inspire other people to do work on themselves. So that was important to me to make sure that there are people who are eclectic, not just the same old stories over and over again.
Tony (00:03:03) - So keep it interesting in that regard. Yeah. Um, and sharing.
Josh (00:03:08) - Yeah. How do you do that after 200. Right. Like I understand doing a ton of things, but how do you keep it interesting for yourself. Because otherwise you're not going to keep doing it right. Like how did you do that?
Tony (00:03:19) - Yeah. I mean, the key thing is to keep on going out in the world and meet new people. You have to. I'm not, you know, kind of just accepting people to come into the door and just, you know, put in their their requests for being on the show. I'm actually going out and meeting people who I find interesting. And then I when I come across somebody, I, I put it out there, say, I think that you'd be a great guest for this show, and I'd love to have you. Come on. And when they say yes, I know that it's it's because they've listened enough to understand the concept is not the typical show.
Josh (00:03:53) - Yeah. What was the greatest lesson you've learned? And we only have a minute left because I still want to give you time at the end to promote your show. But what's one of the greatest lessons you've heard from these stories?
Tony (00:04:03) - Yeah, the greatest lesson is that if we look back at our past, we can really uncover some things that will help us move forward powerfully. And sometimes we don't appreciate those things. We don't appreciate the stories that we need to to share.
Josh (00:04:18) - Yeah. For sure. Well, I really appreciate you sharing. I love your mission and vision. 200 episodes in. That's really awesome. And we we're cheering you on. Where could people go to? What's the name of your show and where can people go to find it?
Tony (00:04:32) - What the name of the show is, the virtual campfire, and you can find it on all the different platforms. The best place to find it for me is be to go to my website I purpose partners. Com and just click on the hashtag podcast.
Josh (00:04:46) - Cool. Tell us your website one more time because there's someone listening. I don't want them to miss it.
Tony (00:04:50) - Yes I purpose partners.com.
Josh (00:04:54) - Awesome awesome awesome. Ladies and gentlemen, the audience. I hope you're enjoying these shows. As always, reach out to our guests, say thank you. And we did this all in five minutes or less. See you guys.
